🥊🌏 Fort School and Atch Academy: from local partnership to international expansion

For the second consecutive year, Fort School’s Year 6 pupils are taking part in an introductory boxing course supervised by coaches from Atch Académie.

This local partnership, made possible thanks to Stéphane Chaufourrier, illustrates our educational vision: combining sporting discipline, academic rigour and international outlook.

🥊 Educational and structured English boxing

The sessions enable pupils to:

  • develop coordination and movement
  • improve concentration and effort management
  • work on self-control and respect for one's partner
  • experiencing team spirit and combat strategy

Educational boxing is not just a combat sport: it teaches reflection, planning and collaboration, essential skills for school and personal life.
As children approach secondary school, it develops confidence, self-assurance and perseverance, while introducing them to a sport practised all over the world.

📚 Integration of core skills

This project directly contributes to several skills in the common core curriculum for Cycle 3:

  • Physical and motor skills: coordination, control of movements and adaptation to different situations
  • Methods and tools for learning: observation, repetition, correction and autonomy in learning
  • Sharing rules and commitment: following instructions, perseverance, initiative and teamwork
  • Autonomy, reflection and communication: written and oral expression, articulating learning, personal discernment

This educational boxing programme enables pupils to develop cross-disciplinary, physical, cognitive and social skills in line with the official Cycle 3 curriculum.

✉️ A thank-you letter from the pupils

At the end of the cycle, the pupils sent a thank-you letter to their coach, Mr Nasirdine.

They express their gratitude for the demanding and motivating teaching, but also for the kindness and support they received. The letter emphasises:

“Boxing is not only a combat sport, but also a strategic and team sport that develops intelligence, respect and self-confidence.”

This approach links physical effort with written expression, reinforcing learning and personal reflection.

🌏 A local story with a focus on China

In 2016, the year our current Year 6 pupils were born, athletes from the Atch Academy were already representing Aubervilliers internationally at a competition in China. Among them was Salahdine Parnasse, a young talent from the club.

Ten years later, these pupils are discovering boxing for themselves… and also learning Chinese at Fort School.
A subtle but powerful symbol: local roots and international outlook can grow together.

🌟 Educational consistency

The partnership with Atch Academy illustrates our conviction: to educate disciplined, confident and open-minded students, starting from their own territory.

At Fort School, Aubervilliers becomes a springboard to high standards and international openness.

The story isn’t over yet…
